The story of both families is told in a book about the history of the Jewish community in Wilmington, Delaware. Sophia Richenberger had emigrated to the United States in 1848. Bernard Row was born on October 20, 1818 in Bavaria. He emigrated to the United States in 1832 at the age of 14, staying first with relatives in Baltimore, Maryland.
